Meet Kotadia is an enterprising and dynamic business and marketing graduate. He completed his Master’s degree from Kingston University in London and started the Post Landing Services for international students with Ocxee Ltd. at the end of 2018. Ocxee helps students to find accommodation, pick-up and drop services, visa assistance, insurance, education loan, foreign exchange, etc.
As an Indian student in London, Meet faced several problems during his initial years. He faced massive difficulties finding accommodation for himself, had to pay a large sum of money when he would find one, and had to keep on shifting every year for three consecutive years.
“I came to London in 2015 for my Undergraduate. Being a fresher, I could not find a place on campus accommodation at University. I then moved in as a paying guest (PG) with an Indian family. The following year I moved in with my friends, and we got one, 2-bedroom apartment for 3 of us from an estate agent in London,” he remembers. “My University term was 9 months, from September to May. Despite telling the estate agent from the beginning that we needed the house for 9 months, we had to pay for the full year because of the contract made by the estate agent. 3-4 Months of rent worth £6000/ was wasted as none of us stayed in that apartment after 9 months.”
This made Meet realize that about 65% of students going abroad for studies are going there for the first time, and he did not want them to suffer in the future. So, initially, Meet co-founded InstuApiration LLP in Surat, which is responsible for helping students with pre-landing services, including university admission, consultation with students, visa assistance, test preparation, etc.
After creating a base of International students through InstuApiration, Meet eventually founded Ocxee Ltd in October 2018, an all-in-one platform for students who need assistance both before and during their time studying abroad. It aims to make the dream of studying abroad accessible to students from all over the country, regardless of financial status or location.
At Ocxee, Meet is responsible for making strategic decisions, leading short-term and long-term strategies, achieving smart goals, and aligning the team to the organization’s vision and values. Apart from that, Meet also adds value to the sales and marketing of the organization, where he, along with his marketing executives, actively runs several marketing campaigns and Facebook student help groups to generate high-quality leads, web traffic and create awareness.
Assisting Students During their Time Studying Abroad
Under Meet’s leadership, Ocxee is the only company in the world offering centralized pre- and post-landing services from a single platform. It eliminates several market fragmentation and inefficiencies by providing a universal solution.
Initially, Ocxee was founded to help international students by providing accommodation assistance, but with each passing day, Meet realized the importance of providing ancillary services like SIM cards, opening bank accounts, creating job portfolios, insurance, furniture rentals, and insurance, and started providing these services under a single roof. Ocxee always aims to hand over the keys of accommodation to the students in their home country, much before they leave for abroad, eliminating the worry of not getting accommodation in a foreign land.
