The industry-focused forum brought together BIM leaders, infrastructure experts, and technology professionals to discuss the future of digital construction, open standards, AI integration, and collaborative innovation in India’s AEC sector

New Delhi, May 15, 2026 – TechnoStruct Group, a leading global BIM and digital engineering company, successfully hosted TechTalks 2026, an industry-led knowledge forum focused on the evolving role of Building Information Modelling (BIM), AI, cloud collaboration, and digital infrastructure in India’s Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) ecosystem. The event brought together industry experts, BIM professionals, consultants, and technology leaders for an in-depth exchange on the future of infrastructure delivery, sustainability, and lifecycle management.

The day-long event featured keynote presentations, panel discussions, and live technology demonstrations covering critical themes such as BIM implementation challenges, AI and generative design, VR/AR applications in construction, cloud-based collaboration, BIM-GIS integration, and the transition from BIM 1.0 to BIM 2.0. Sessions were led by experts from NCRTC, AECOM, ESRI, and TechnoStruct Group.

Mr. Roy Aniruddha, Founder and Chairman, TechnoStruct Group, said, “The construction and infrastructure industry is at a turning point where technology adoption is no longer optional but essential for long-term growth and sustainability. Through TechTalks 2026, our objective was to create a collaborative platform where industry leaders, BIM professionals, and technology experts could openly discuss implementation challenges, future opportunities, and practical solutions. We believe these industry-wide conversations are critical in accelerating India’s digital infrastructure transformation journey.”

Speaking on the purpose behind the initiative, Mr. Parth Makwana, Co-Founder and Director of Business Development, TechnoStruct Group, said, “TechTalks was conceptualised as an open and interactive industry forum where professionals working directly with BIM technologies could come together and share practical insights from the ground level. The main reason behind bringing together this committee and industry ecosystem was to create dedicated discussions around the challenges being faced across different sectors and regions, and to better understand the real problems affecting implementation. We have travelled across multiple countries and cities observing how digital construction practices are evolving globally, but here the idea was to sit together with industry stakeholders and collectively work towards practical solutions. Through these discussions, we aim to bring forward more informed conversations, identify critical industry topics, and create a stronger collaborative ecosystem for BIM adoption in India.”

The event also highlighted the increasing importance of BIM in enabling sustainable infrastructure development across India. Discussions focused on the role of BIM in improving planning, coordination, lifecycle management, and environmental responsibility across large-scale infrastructure projects, including metro systems, airports, and smart urban developments.

Commenting on the evolving role of BIM in India, Anushmi Tripathy, Brand Growth Manager, TechnoStruct Group, said, “BIM is becoming an integral part of India’s infrastructure ecosystem, from metro corridors and expressways to emerging airport developments and smart city projects. Beyond improving efficiency and collaboration, BIM is also helping the industry move towards more sustainable infrastructure practices through better resource planning, lifecycle optimisation, and smarter decision-making. As India continues to invest heavily in infrastructure growth, digital engineering technologies like BIM will play a defining role in shaping the future of construction and urban development.”

“Digital leadership isn’t about software mastery; it’s about being the steward of information integrity. In today’s BIM ecosystem, the real value lies not only in geometry or visualisation but in how accurately information flows across stakeholders, disciplines, and project stages. The challenge the industry continues to face is ensuring seamless integration between fragmented teams, evolving project participants, and legacy workflows. As projects become increasingly complex, maintaining data integrity, collaborative alignment, and a single source of truth becomes critical to achieving successful digital delivery,” said Anand Prakash, Discipline Director – Head of Architecture at AECOM Enterprise Capabilities, India.

One of the key sessions of the event was led by Rishabh Gautam, AGM, NCRTC, who shared detailed insights into NCRTC’s BIM implementation journey for India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor connecting Delhi and Meerut, a project involving an investment of nearly ₹32,000 crore. During the session, he explained how NCRTC adopted a fully model-based approach from the beginning, eliminating dependency on traditional 2D workflows while implementing open BIM standards and a Common Data Environment (CDE) to improve collaboration and long-term asset management.

The session further explored the future convergence of BIM with AI, generative design, and Digital Twin technologies. Discussions focused on how AI-driven workflows can reduce implementation complexity, accelerate adoption, and improve infrastructure planning across the AEC sector. Experts also highlighted the importance of people-centric implementation strategies, BIM awareness, and policy-level support to improve BIM maturity across India.

Sharing his perspective on the larger industry impact, Mr. Surjit Singh, Head of Global Sales, TechnoStruct Group, said, “India is entering a phase where infrastructure development will increasingly depend on technology-led execution, collaboration, and operational efficiency. BIM, AI, and Digital Twin technologies are rapidly transforming how projects are designed, managed, and maintained across their lifecycle. At TechnoStruct, we see immense potential for India to emerge as a global hub for advanced digital engineering expertise, and initiatives like TechTalks are aimed at building the industry awareness and ecosystem collaboration required to support that transformation.”

TechTalks 2026 reflects TechnoStruct Group’s continued commitment towards enabling industry collaboration, advancing BIM awareness, and driving conversations around digital transformation in India’s infrastructure ecosystem. As India accelerates investments in smart cities, transit systems, airports, and sustainable urban infrastructure, BIM and digital engineering are expected to play a critical role in improving efficiency, collaboration, and long-term asset management across the project lifecycle.
